My Excuses:

Toni recently posted her excuses for not posting for two weeks, so I have decided to follow suit and post my excuses for not posting since December 19 last year. I know it's lame, but here goes:

1) I am the proud and tired mother of three children, wife to my husband (a businessman who relies on me a great deal -- something I appreciate in him), and we have a large house and three pets. Recently, to put this excuse into perspective, Molly (our female Miniature Schnauzer) has been in heat. You just go ahead and try to keep the two of them apart... gates, doors, lots of growling at them seems to help a bit, but the whining is off the charts! Unbelievable, really. In addition, my son learned to crawl and sprouted his first tooth (YAY DREW!) so now I am constantly following him around trying to keep him from climbing the stairs, eating the dog food, tearing things to shreds (a particularly avid pastime of his) and banging on things which break easily. Also, his sister Giada (two years old and as tiny as ever, the little wood sprite!) believes that she should HELP him do all the things he wants to do. She enables him to escape me on a regular basis. You woudln't believe the amount of emergency sweeping and laundry the two of the are capable of producing. Majellyn is 10 going on 17, wearing the bra size I finally grew into at age 14 I think. I could elaborate, but you all KNOW Majellyn, so you can just use your imagination about all the wonderful conversations we have had lately.

2) I teach from 3-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday. It's very good for me, and I hope good for my students. It also requires a little preparation and by the time I am finished every night it's dinner time, followed by bathing and bedtime for the kids, after which I am a pumpkin myself. I usually fall asleep on the couch within a half hour of the kids going down, unless of course I am washing dishes. That chore DOES occasionally happen.

3) I am the curriculum director for Gateway Preparatory Academy, opening in August this year. We are currently building an $8 million building in Enoch, and have 566 of our 675 spots already full. The past three weeks we have been on a man-hunt for the DIrector (like a Principal) which has consumed nearly 15 hours per week of dedicated time (babysitter necessary, interviews, etc.) and even more in review of qualifications, etc. Tomorrow we will meet with my top candidate and hopefully have hired a director within the next few days. I am hoping very much that after this hire, my time requirement will decrease, although we still have a whole staff of teachers to hire and train. Maybe I am dreaming.

The reason I am able to write today is that my entire family was down and out today with some horrible illness (I think we got it from Uncle Heath). Baby Drew was the only one with sunshine in his smile today, and miraculously even ANDY stayed home from work for the second day in a row... this bug sucks!

SO those are my excuses.... next I hope to actually put some PICTURES in here!

Hello Aimee - As I told all your bros and sisters we are sooo excited to have been able to find you through the blogging world. Sara told me Cyrena had found you and then it went from there. It is so interesting to find out what and where everyone is and doing! You sound like you have your hands full but are great at "game management!" Your little ones are adorable and I am sooo glad to hear Cedar City is treating you well! Keep in Touch!
